Its 3 years this week since Noel’s solo debut, under the guise of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds was released to resounding critical acclaim. So what better time to announce the follow-up to his ninth consecutive career number one record; Chasing Yesterday and its lead single ‘In The Heat Of The Moment’.

The single itself is yet another in an extensive catalogue of ingenious compositions that continue to portray Noel’s rare ability to string a meticulously masterful melody around a perpetually potent collection of lyrics. The background noise and count-in have been left in at the beginning, much the same as various tracks on his previous record – an element that Noel noted “makes it more real”, during an interview with Mark Lawson back in 2012.  With the opening words of the song: “they tell me you’ve touched the face of God”, we are reminded of Gallagher’s penchant for empathic…
