Single Review: Cocoon // Catfish and the Bottlemen

The Indiependent

Single after single, Catfish and the Bottlemen just get better and better. ‘Cocoon’ is now the sixth single to be unveiled from the foursome’s long awaited debut album ‘The Balcony’, and as far as I’m concerned, there’s no doubt that its their best yet.

Lead singer and songwriter; Van McCann has created a truly heartfelt and eternally relevant work of lyrical brilliance accompanied by an almost euphoric stream of riffs and chords. The narrative of ‘Cocoon’ revolves around an undying, unstoppable love or adoration for someone/something and that defiant ‘fuck it if they try and get to us’ attitude an attachment as such unleashes within us all.
